Almost two billion children around the world lack access to surgical care.

It’s time we change that. But, while surgery is important, it is not enough. We aim to transform the entire culture of care – the post-surgical protocols, resources, and team – to ensure that kids make it out of the operating room and make it safely home.

An Aching Need

The number of children that die each year from a lack of surgical care exceeds those that succumb to HIV, Tuberculosis, and Malaria combined.

In 2020 more than 5 million children worldwide died before their 5th birthday.

As of 2017, approximately 1.7 billion children around the globe remain without access to surgical care.

As a result these children are
14 times more likely to die before reaching the age of 5 than their first-world peers.
